Can we Believe it

Well here we are again listening to Microsoft boast about Windows Vista, reading a few editorials from Microsoft there seems to be a lot of confusion with how many copies Microsoft have sold of Vista.

Reports say that Microsoft have sold 40million copies of Windows Vista in 100 days, but yet a lot of users are still sticking with WindowsXP as it’s the most reliable operating system on the Market. No way did they sell this amount in 100 days.

Our sources also told us that some people who have actually purchased Vista wished they hadn’t spent out on the new version of the operating system. Prices are quoted on Microsofts own website.

Apple are slowly coming up to the same level where Microsoft is on the market, something Chairman of Microsoft Bill Gates, can’t hide from.

Lots of people don’t know there is alternative operating systems out on the market such as Apple’s operating system and Linux which is a command driven system, and seemingly very popular amongst developers.

With Microsoft they took the layout of the Acorn WIMP layout (as reported earlier this month on ExtraTorrent.com) and used it on their Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. Seems weird because the Archimedes operating system was RISC OS 3.1 notice the 3.1!!(Reduced Instruction Set Chip - operating system was built into the hardware) WIMP in english means Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointer. It was the first GUI (General User Interface) of its kind.

The Acorn Archimedes was a single tasking machine, but a very powerful one at that.
Acorn also released RISC PC’s running RISC OS 4.

Critics say that if Microsoft slashed the prices they charge for operating systems, they wouldn’t have such a battle on their hands of pirate copies of Windows.

They could be right ;) ;)
