GeForce 9800 GX2

NVIDIA’s yet-to-be released GeForce 9800 GX2 in the “flesh.”

We reveal some of the specs and what should be expected.

The best way to think of the GeForce 9800 GX2 card is as an 8800 GPU that has been die shrunk to 65nm and placed in an SLI configuration in a “single” card.

The 9800 GX2 is very reminiscent of 7950 GX2 of days past.

The GeForce 9800 GX2 will launch in late February or early March as it now stands and will replace the 8800 Ultra (single GPU) card in NVIDIA’s high-end product line up.

The 9800 GX2 is said to be at least 30% faster than a 8800 Ultra.

While it is not clear from the pictures below, we are told it will support “Quad SLI.”

Lake Dead 2007

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

What we have here is the story of three sisters who inherit a motel from a grandfather they’ve never met.

Their father, who is also estranged but in contact periodically, warns them not to go, but they ignore him and bring some friends along for a camping expedition.

Your father may be a jerk and a drunk girls, but on this occasion he may just actually be right… grandfathers in creepy motels are something to avoid.

What caught my attention was the high rating on the Internet Movie Database, where it was getting a ten from more than half of the voters, making it the highest rated horror film ever.

ST Trinians 2007

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

With a cast which sadly boasted Mischa Barton and Girls Alouds, it boasted watery, lame humour film from every angle.

But after seeing it, it was clear to me that nothing couldn’t be further from the truth, as this product was brilliant, with laugh-out-loud moments all around and a brilliant cast full of the creme-de-la-creme of British actors(which barely had any Mischa Barton in it at all).

Crazy Eights

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

A few days after a group of friends each begin having nightmares, they are alerted to the death of a friend they hadn’t really seen in twenty years.

At the funeral, they are given a map to a time capsule. The capsule contains a shocking part of their past: a dead girl.

The rest of the day involves unraveling their combined pasts that had gone long forgotten and trying to survive when their guilt comes back to haunt them.

What was the selling point for this film? I think for me it was the interesting plot synopsis (one of the few to not include zombies or cannibals or inbred family members) and Traci Lords (who played Gina Conte).

Lords, as I’m sure you know, is known for her underage pornographic work… I also happen to really enjoy her musical career, which runs in the techno-industrial vein.
