Riddick Trilogy
Check this little bundle out!
First - Pitch Black
From the first 10 seconds of Pitch Black I was hooked.
Before I had seen this I was thinking that it would be just another cheesy sci-fi movie.
Instead I found a highly entertaining, on the edge of your seat, thought provoking action film.
The movie goes beyond your basic special effects flick.
The look of the movie is breath taking, the contrast of blues, yellows and oranges due to the three different suns is amazing.
Second - Chronnicles of Riddick
I am not sure why this movie caught to much bad press.
Its completely different from the first one but in a good way.
Pitch Black was sci-fi/horror not action and the action sequences in this are amazing as well as the fight sequences.
Vin Diesel was born to play this character like Arnold to the Terminator.
I’ve seen this one loads of times now with different people and everyone who sees it ends up really liking it and asking themselves why they haven’t seen it before this.
Check this one out for certain.
Third - Dark Fury
This is an animated sequel.
Dark Fury picks up right where Pitch Black ended, with Riddick, Jack and Imam being captured by mercenaries, the leader of whom has some strange and sadistic intentions in regards to Riddick.
In a bit of a baffling business move, Universal decided to release this after The Chronicles of Riddick.
If they had released it a week or two earlier, some of the questions posed in Riddick that confused a good number of people would have been clearly answered.
This short gives us the answer of some key events that occurred in the five years between Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, as well as some insight into why Riddick, Jack and Imam interact the way they do in CoR.
It also introduces the character Toombs, who plays a key role in Riddick’s plight.
