The Happening

posterLet’s get one thing out of the way- “The Happening” is unbelievably, impossibly, ridiculously, hilariously, inconceivably bad.

“The Happening” starts out well but ends up being an absolute embarrassment.

I was prepared for a mediocre offering, I was not expecting a disaster on the level of “The Happening”.

Its last forty minutes and especially its last ten minutes or so are among the worst I have seen in a long time.

Have you ever wondered if it was possible for a film to go from enjoyable to absolutely horrendous in the space of ten or fifteen minutes?

“The Happening” is proof that it can, pardon the (intentional) pun, happen.

People start to get confused in Central Park, repeating their words, standing still and sometimes walking backwards.

We hear a few screams. A woman (Alison Folland) reading on a bench takes her silver chopstick-style hair pin out of her hair and stabs herself in the neck with it.

Meanwhile on a building site, workers on the ground are chatting when all of a sudden a body falls.

90210 Series 1 Episode 1 (2008)

Close your curtains… ET is taking you all down memory lane :P

… Back in 4th October 2000 It’s easy to forget (or not even know) that at one point, Beverly Hills, 90210 (created by Darren Star who’d go on to Melrose Place before the phenomenon that is ‘Sex & The City’) was the biggest teen-orientated show in the world.

Yes - the world!

One minute, it was struggling to survive and the next, the stars of the series inspired scenes reminiscent of ‘Beatlemania’ and justly so because in those days of yesteryear, the 90210’s blend of drama, cheese, humour, pure unadulterated escapism, great scenery in terms of cast and location and strong characterisation was compelling viewing.

The early years concentrated on the Walsh family - who promptly became the emotional core of the show - and their efforts to adjust to life in Beverly Hills after relocation from Minnesota.

Here we have a whole new 90210 this the 2008 version starting from season 1 series 1.

Enjoy! ;) magic

Ep1.1 We’re Not in Kansas Anymore
