If I’m correct in saying that wave 3 includes from Microsoft, the latest versions of Live Messenger, Movie Maker, Mail with Calendar synchronization, Writer, Photo Gallery, Family Safety and the Outlook Connector.

These downloads have been confirmed as functional, whether its on a time-trial beta basis or a fully functional beta is still unknown at this time.

Bangkok Dangerous

18 Sep

http://www.releaselog.net/uploads/4450618a304e99aea8e8cb06995b469f.jpg

This is probably the worst movie to come out in years.

Production values of a junior high school 8 mm hand held.

Cage races through this with the look of a man trying to get off this set asap. ;)

It is an exaggeration to use the word plot, the screenplay has less suspense than watching somebody paint a fence.

The so called plot turns were painful to watch, and the “arty” grainy washed out look of this film was probably an attempt to save a few bucks by producers who belatedly realized they had been steering this overloaded barge onto the rocks.

I feel sorry for Nicolas Cage. :P

He is possibly the biggest victim of typecasting in Hollywood, and he does his best with the roles he is given but the odd film slips through the net, and sadly Bangkok Dangerous is one of them.

He is distinctly average in this and the performances of the supporting cast aren’t much better with the notable exception of Charlie Yeung, who delivers a fine performance as the love interest.

The movie is like Marmite, you’ll either love it or hate it.

have fun! ;) magic

Sky Kids

This movie is powerful on many levels…the character development, the plot, the acting, the special effects, the scenery, the music…it is uplifting and “on the edge of your seat” exciting.

You are not just watching this movie you are involved in it because you are carried away by the story – you are so affected by the plot and the compassion that you feel for the characters.

I was liked the development of the friendship between the two lads and the influence of the grandfather and the uncle in this story, and the truth revealed that good things can come from life experiences that, at the time, seem too challenging for words!

Wholesome, funny, thrilling, and touching….you can cry and you can laugh with the entire family to watch and enjoy together!!  Cue the cheezie insperational music – oooh yeeahh!! :)

Two boys (Jesse James and Reiley McClendon) from a small town find their courage tested when they accidentally stow away aboard an airplane owned by the mob.

You’ll love it! have fun! ;) magic

Mongol

16 Sep

In fact, the spookily powerful child Temudjin (Odnyam Odsuren) in this, dominates the first part of the film, undergoing trials and tribulations that make the lives of Dickens’ abused and imperiled children look like a picnic.

From age nine into his 30s, Temudjin was orphaned, hunted, imprisoned, enslaved, and constantly threatened by extinction.

Literally alone in the vast landscape, Temudjin escapes death repeatedly, at times almost mysteriously.

“Mongol” is huge – with endless vistas and epic crowd scenes, quite without special effects – but Bodrov keeps the setting just that, never strutting visuals for their own sake.

The film is about people, and the cast is magnificent.

Asano’s face and eyes hold attention, and make the viewer experience simultaneous feelings of getting to know the character he plays and being held at arm’s length.

Bodrov and Asano escape all the many Hollywood pitfalls in making an epic – they present nothing easy, predictable, trite. The term “Shakespearean” is used here advisedly.

The Mongolian actors are sensational: Khulan Chuluun is luminous as Borte, Temudjin’s wife; Borte’s 10-year-old self, the girl who chooses Temudjin, then 9, while he thinks he is the one making the decision, is unforgettable, even if the name is hard to remember: Bayertsetseg Erdenebat. ;)

The Incredible Hulk

14 Sep

posterHonestly, as soon as I heard they were making another Hulk movie I was surprised.

When I heard they had cast Ed Norton, I was shocked.

After I seen it I was surprised, it was really masterfully done.

Lettier does an amazing job, Norton was fantastic, and as far as a comic book movie goes, this one is just about on top with little nods and mentions.

If you don’t walk out of your friends house after seeing this film screaming HELLL YEAAAA, then you are not normal. :P

Far better than Ang Lee’s attempt at the green man and as far as this year, it’s definitely Marvel’s year.

No better way to make up for Spiderman 3 than releasing Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk just a month apart.

Thank you Marvel for cleaning the mess Spiderman 3 left and clearing your name. ;)

A cure is in reach for the world’s most primal force of fury: The Incredible Hulk.

We find scientist Bruce Banner, living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote.

But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won’t leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross.

Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination — a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk’s own.

enjoy! ;) magic

Snow Angels

13 Sep

Snow Angels

The movie has a strong real-life feeling to it, thanks to great writing by Green and great acting skills by the cast.

There are scenes where Annie yells at her child that may seem to be out of place at first glance, but are actually amazing true-to-life ways to express how sometimes parents can lose their tempers with their children.

The scenes show how sometimes kids can try to push their parents’ buttons, or play their parents against each other without even knowing it.

The acting is magic ;) – the actors show a wide range, from joy to sorrow, and from humor to violent anger.

There are times when you love and sympathize with the characters, and there are times when you hate them so much your blood boils – that’s how strongly the audience connects to the characters.

By the end of the movie, you feel drained, as if you just watched someone you love die.

The story interweaves the life of a teenager, Arthur, with his onetime baby sitter Annie (Emily Mortimer), who is struggling with a young daughter and her estranged husband, Glenn (Sam Rockwell).

enjoy! ;) magic

Restraint

11 Sep

Maybe it’s because it was raining outside and it was dark in my quiet and half empty apartment. :P

Maybe it was just me on that evening in that apartment with that weather outside.

The point is – I was totally and absolutely sank in this movie’s atmosphere, ambushed by the mastery of the camera operators, I could breathe the fog and I could touch those car tracks left on the gravel. ;)

The plot was not surprising.

The ending was rather traditional.

All of that didn’t matter, really.

The aura, the ambiance, the climate – it was fantastically dark, intriguing and kept me in the chair glued to the screen close to believing the bad movies days are ended.

A young couple on the run hole up in a country estate with a hostage in tow.
