Transsiberian
Brad Anderson is probably the best unknown director working today.
He’s the independent Christopher Nolan, often making character-driven, psychologically complex flicks that transcend the trappings of their respective genres.
The movie opens in Moscow, where we see police detective Grinko, Ben Kingsley, investigating a double murder of two gangsters.
A big stash of bad drugs is also missing. Hmmm.
Transsiberian an uncommonly absorbing experience.
One of those legendary train trips that people used to dream about taking, the Transsiberian Express has probably seen better days.
An American couple, Roy (Woody Harrelson) and Jessie (Emily Mortimer), decide to return home the long way from their recent sojourn in Pekin and meet another couple from the West.

Plot
A Trans-Siberian train journey from China to Moscow becomes a thrilling chase of deception and murder when an American couple encounters a mysterious pair of fellow travelers.
Goofs
- Continuity: At the end of the movie, the main couple drives a train. A locomotive with three cars. Jessie closes all the doors of the cars and then goes back to Roy, who is operating the locomotive. But there is no way to get from the cars to the locomotive.
- Factual errors: When Jessie first tries to get rid of the matreshkas (set of nesting dolls) made of drugs, she goes to the carriage platform and opens the door by rotating the red lever covered by frost. It’s actually an emergency hand brake.
- Continuity: At one point in the movie Jessie is moving along the corridor of the train. A man with a freshly lit cigarette hanging from his lips is standing in the aisle as she approaches, as she passes him the camera pans back to the same guy who now has an almost finished cigarette in his mouth.
