G.P.S.

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

This was indeed a very suspenseful film.

However, this suspense was not created by the acting, which was no doubt some of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Nor was the suspense on account of the story. Weak, predictable, and absolutely terrible.

A group of adventure seeking college kids embark on a GPS treasure hunt in the Northwest wilderness.

They are led to believe they will find two million dollars in cash.

When they arrive at the treasure location they find what appears to be a grave.

They dig up the grave to find a small coffin.

What they find inside is shocking.

Are the contents of the coffin real or is it all part of the game?

Shut your curtains, dive in and get your munchies!!

Donkey Punch

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

This is one of those thrillers in which every cast member gets a turn playing the volatile psychopath, purely because the script can’t get around the fact that the previous character to go loopy has just been safely locked in a cupboard.

The director coaxes some really outstanding performances from his young cast, and there are a couple of devilish moments of genuine suspense and black comedy - but these jiffys are like a tiny number of slowly deflating rubber dinghies sinking into a gigantic ocean of generic pish. :P

Sex, drugs, and beautiful people on board a luxurious yacht in the Mediterranean—not your typical setting for a horror film.

But Donkey Punch isn’t your typical horror film.

Three gorgeous ladies on holiday in a Mediterranean beach town are determined to let their hair down and leave their troubles behind.

The festivities begin at a nightclub, where libations flow and libidos grow.

… and it all started so well … ahh well.

Apple strip DRM from songs

Monday, January 26th, 2009

The DRM protection prevented customers from listening to music on unauthorized devices and limited the copies they could burn onto CDs.

The company facees competition from Amazon.com Inc., which charges as little as 79 cents a song - with no copy protection.

While record labels liked having DRM, they also wanted variable prices, letting them charge more for popular songs.

Apple has also disclosed plans for songs to be made available will cost 69 cents, 99 cents, or $1.29 starting in April, with most albums going for $9.99.

My Name is Bruce

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

If you love any of the Evil Dead movies, if you’ve ever loved him as the dashing king of thieves in Xena: Warrior Princess, or if you’ve just been charmed by his delightful cameos in the Spiderman films ;) , you will LOVE “My Name Is Bruce”!

Even if you don’t know that much about Bruce Campell and you just happen to be a fan of B-Movies, I still think you will enjoy this movie.

Everything we love about Bruce is played so well over the top you can’t help but laugh yourself silly!

Windows XP Licenses - extension

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Originally Microsoft had given Windows XP OEM licenses until 31st January 2009 however - Microsoft have eased off and renewed the deadline for OEM distributors to make Windows XP OEM licenses available up until 31st December 2009.

This is  yet another sign of the market’s resistance to Windows Vista, and of the growing realization within the channel that many customers have decided to simply skip Vista and wait for the arrival of Windows 7.

Microsoft says that should be ready for late 2009 or early 2010, but some reports have suggested it could come as early as mid-2009.

Notorious

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

The Movie was way better then I thought.

The actors in it resembled each person in every way possible.

I was disappointed about one thing and that was the drama aspect.

Nothing surprised me about it, because everything in the movie we already knew. It wasn’t one thing in the movie that left anything to the imagination.

It was very predictable because I already knew he sold drugs, he went to jail, then got discovered by puffy, he blew up, then he ??.  ;)

I still loved it and the music in it.

The life and death story of Notorious B.I.G. (a.k.a. Christopher Wallace), who came straight out of Brooklyn to take the world of rap music by storm.

In just a few short years, Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller.

The Unborn

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

The movie isn’t scary.

There are a bit of unusual parts to it, but nothing that will give you nightmares unless you are easily scared.

The only parts that made me jump were when there was silence  — and something made a sudden noise — BOO!

Sometimes the soul of a dead person has been so tainted with evil that it is denied entrance to heaven.

It must endlessly wander the borderlands between worlds, desperately searching for a new body to inhabit. And sometimes it actually succeeds.

National Lampoons: Stoned Age

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Having only seen the web trailer and a couple of viral vids I could only hope that it wasn’t the type of film that tries to show you so much of the funny gags in the trailer, then while your watching it you’re sitting there saying to yourself, “wow I should have just watched the trailer for 88mins”, ‘Strange Wilderness comes to mind’. :P

This was made in short space of time and really low budget.

Detroit Rock City’s Adam Rifkin writes, directs, and stars in National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus, a prehistoric comedy surrounding a caveman and his plight to find love while leading his clan.

Ali Larter plays the love interest, with David Carradine and Talia Shire portraying Rifkin’s parents.

Cameos are supplied by Tom Arnold and Gary Busey.

Amusement

Monday, January 19th, 2009

“Amusement” is basically just a collection of ideas stuffed into a messy script…

Let’s make a horror movie with beautiful chicks and a crazy guy!

OK, but I want a clown in there and Joyride was fun, so let’s also put that in and have some people being stabbed in the eye.

If we make the crazy guy an inventor with killer gimmicks and some Dr. Giggles laughter I am in!

We need a psychologist in there plus some unexpected twist and a moral ending to at least make it look smart on first sight.

Tabitha. Shelby. Lisa. Theyre longtime friends on separate life paths.

But they share a horrific destination when a seemingly innocent incident from their school days comes back to terrify them.

Something someone wants payback: warped vengeance…mind-games vengeance…taunting, shredding, slashing vengeance.
