My opinion:-
We saw a lot of movies with the same story line I mean “a convect who seeks for revenge from those who killed his beloved one(s)”.
I mean the story sounds simple or list say “classic”. In fact, This movie reminded me of the movie Kill Bill (2003) by the revenge side.
But, somehow, this movie was just great and went beyond expectations, the action, the performance, the visual effects, the drama and the criminal side are all combined to form this movie the way that is different than the movies which carry this kind of story lines. And these kind of combinations are what audience mostly want from a movie nowadays.
I liked this movie and I really enjoyed the thrilling, the action and the drama. well, it’s totally entertaining.
Stars in the movie:-
Let’s start with the most stunning and outstanding performance in this movie, Dwayne Johnson’s, who played the role of Driver, the raged convect who got out of jail after ten years, thirsty to get his revenge from his brother’s killers.
Driver’s rage and his strong well to revenge tell us that he was impatiently counting the hours to get out of jail not for freedom or to start a new life. But, for revenge ignoring all the consequences that will happen because of his careless intends.
Dwayne Johnson really was the right man for such role, and appearantely not as right as the tooth fairy role.
Next, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Killer, the hit-man who is a self-made millionaire and likes going through hard and different challenges to test his abilities in life. Oliver Jackson-Cohen as an actor gave this role not more than it deserves.
Billy Bob Thornton is Cop. And also, a drug addict who had problems with his family (wife and kid). Billy Bob Thornton did really good.
The visual Effeciancy:-
As an action movie, it really had some amazing scenes that make the visual effects rise.
But, As I think of the visual effects in this movie, it doesn’t define the revolution of visual effects of the year 2010.
Despite the visual effects, the audience really tasted the story.
Facts about the movie:-
Salma Hayek was planned to do the role of Cicero “a detecteive that was given the case of Driver to her”, but a week before filming started she dropped out due to scheduling issues, and was replaced by Carla Gugino for the role.
The film grossed $12,200,000 over the 5 day Thanksgiving release. So far the film has grossed $25,050,137.
