Michael Jacksons This Is It

What a blast!.

This is a must-see for every MJ fan and even non-fans to understand why he was so popular and deserved every bit of the title King of the Pop.

A consummate artist, a perfectionist, and a visionary.

The film is overflowed with his energy, passion, and dedication.

If the rehearsals could be this good and engaging, one could only imagine what the concerts would’ve been.

His voice sometimes showed his age, but his dance moves were not, at all.

Also the young female guitarist was not just good looking, but crazily good with the guitar as well.

It’s simply paying the tribute and gives fans something they deserve to see.

This Is It was a planned series of 50 concerts by Michael Jackson to be held at The O2 arena in London.

They were scheduled to begin in July 2009 and continue through March 2010.

Less than three weeks before the first show was due to begin and with all concerts being sold out, Jackson died after suffering cardiac arrest.

The animators at Imagi Studios did a great job in delivering this film to expectations, graphic wise.

An A-list voice cast also helped, with actors such as Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Bill Nighy, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron and Kristen Bell all chipping in.

Set in futuristic Metro City, â€œAstro Boyâ€ is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist.

Powered by positive â€œblueâ€ energy, â€œAstro Boyâ€ is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly.

Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy learns the joys and emotions of being human, and gains the strength to embrace his destiny.

Saw VI

The deaths are gore- filled, the story full of revelations and twists.

The traps are still amazingly sadistic, and somehow the writers are able to constantly give us new insight into situations we thought we already had figured out.

Everything fits in beautifully in the Saw universe,and just when you think they can’t possibly explain any more, they surprise us yet again.

We won’t give away any spoilers, but suffice it to say the ending had us on the edge of our seats.

We always cringe when the credits roll- we want more! more! more!…especially with this one.

This surpasses Saw V by miles … left breathless, hating the critics, and wondering what will come next, waiting for yet dreading the end of the series.

This is a big thing, considering we’re usually of the mindset that sequels should never pass 3- if that.

As far as we’re concerned, they can just keep making Saw, as we’ll always be there, watching.

Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsawâ€™s legacy.

However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsawâ€™s grand scheme is finally understood.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs

Visually, this is perhaps one of the most spectacular animated movies we’ve ever seen, with literally every frame being a feast for the eyes.

There were moments, especially throughout the movie’s undeniably thrilling climax, in which we were just amazed.

Not to throw in so much hyperbole, but this truly is one of the best animated films in terms of pure eye candy.

This should be a movie you should watch in theaters because it’s unlike any movie you have ever seen.

There’s a lot of ingenuity and inventiveness and cleverness that is warped around the movie.

The film is entertaining for both the kids and the adults to enjoy, so there’s no need to worry.

If you have the chance to see this in 3D, see it but we’re sure the 2D version works just as well.

If you’re iffy about the trailer, that’s a good thing because the movie surpasses the trailer by ten times.

Prepare to get served…literally.

Inspired by the beloved childrenâ€™s book, the film focuses on a town where food falls from the sky like rain.

Bill Hader will voice Flint Lockwood, a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyoneâ€™s life.

Anna Faris takes on the role of Sam Sparks, a weathergirl covering the phenomenon who hides her intelligence behind a perky exterior.

James Caan plays Tim Lockwood, Flintâ€™s technophobic father.

Andy Samberg plays Brent, the town bully who has plagued Flint since childhood.

Bruce Campbell plays Mayor Shelbourne, who figures out that Flintâ€™s invention can put the town, and more importantly himself, on the map.

Mr. T plays the by-the-rules town cop Earl Devereaux, and Tracy Morgan takes on the role of Earlâ€™s rule-breaking son, Cal.

Gamer

Gamer is, first and foremost, mostly a brainless action film in the vein of Crank and other hyperkinetic actioneers, which is presented in fast, somewhat jittery cuts.

There’s plenty of ultraviolence here and a world of uber-tech that revolves around mind control and the next phase in adult entertainment.

While the premise seems a bit silly, with some people subjecting themselves to more demeaning elements, it is a bit thought provoking, which is kind of nice in an action film.

It does edge close to Schwarzenegger’s Running Man, although this film stands on its own with a stern Gerard Butler and over-the-top Michael C Hall.

The film rushes itself, finally slowing down to a decent pace at the end, with an ending that is very fitting and entertaining, however, most of it is a mix between speedy action and lackluster dramatic scenes.

GAMER is a high-concept action thriller set in a near future when gaming and entertainment have evolved into a terrifying new hybrid.

Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games: people play peopleâ€¦for keeps.

Mind-control technology is widespread, and at the heart of the controversial games is its creator, reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall).

The Final Destination 2009

To top its predecessors, this installment had its introductory big scene set in stock car racing, which is the perfect avenue for a hundred and one things to go wrong, and when they do, have thousands of potential victims to pick off from.

While the very first movie had a spectacular, and some say too realistic for good taste in having witness from within a plane break up and explode upon take-off, this one had an adrenaline pumping race that got enhanced thanks to the latest gimmick in town… 3D.

The movie starts off pretty good, the premonition sequence works fantastically with the 3D, even though it’s not as good as part two’s brilliant car pile-up.

This film also contains the most ironic and funniest death scene in the whole series but since everyone knows that people go watch these movies for the death scenes, we’ll keep quiet.

One paradoxical thing we should say is that the death scenes in here are more for quantity than quality, which is quite unfortunate, but these deaths work really well with the 3D.

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick Oâ€™Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him.

When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leaveâ€¦escaping seconds before Nickâ€™s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality.

Thinking theyâ€™ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning…. very nice!

Inglorious Basterds

Dialogue has evolved from the classic Tarantino “bad ass” provocative style as seen in Pulp Fiction and Death Proof.

One can feel in the dialogues that Tarantino is making more open references to other movies.

Indeed, many dialogues were near lessons in cinema to the audience, the setting partly takes place at a movie premiere ; a reference to a movie is close around every corner.

It is nice to see that each language presented (German, French, and English) is employed rather equally and naturally.

Amazingly enough, Tarantino managed to make his actors pull off a natural and graceful performance from his actors.

Soldiers, spies and civilans rarely understood soldiers/spies/civilians from other countries.

Nazi occupied France, and a young Jewish refugee Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the slaughter of her family by Colonel Hans Landa.

Narrowly escaping with her life, she plots her revenge several years later when German war hero Fredrick Zoller quickly takes an interest in her and arranges an illustrious movie premiere at the theater she now runs.

The movie was kinda fun, and it had an original plot that is something that kids really want to see now a days.

Good clean comedy comes out of this movie every once and a while.

A good laugh can be expected from this film.

The creator had a really good imagination when making this movie, he really knows what kids would really wish for.

The special effects looked a little cheap and sometimes the imaginative stuff goes a little to far.

It is somewhat fun, an ordinary family/kids movie which is slightly a little good as any other.

â€˜Shortsâ€™ is set in the suburb of Black Falls, where all the houses look the same and everyone works for BLACK BOX Unlimited Worldwide Industries Incorporated, whose Mr. Blackâ€™s BLACK BOX is the ultimate communication and do-it-all gadget thatâ€™s sweeping the nation.

Other than keeping his parents employed, however, Mr. Blackâ€™s BLACK BOX has done nothing for 11-year-old Toe Thompson, who just wants to make a few friendsâ€¦until a mysterious rainbow-colored rock falls from the sky, hits him in the head and changes everything.

District 9

Abandoning the usual settings of Hollywood sci-fi and placing us in the harsh slums of South Africa, we are given an original piece of work which takes risks in the way it tells its story.

Not only does it go against the expectations of audiences who have been trained to expect mediocrity from their sci-fi, it goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide us with spectacle as well as something to ponder after we’ve downed our popcorn.

There is, thankfully not an overused, overexposed celebrity in sight, and every unknown face in the film gives a solid performance.

The aliens themselves, brilliantly realized with top notch CGI even manage to make us feel something, only rivaled by Gollum from “Lord of the Rings”.

District 9 has so much to like, it’s spectacular, darkly funny, entertaining and thoughtful all at the same time, and it’s all done on a meager $30m budget.

There is true talent on show here, if only there were more films like this, the world of cinema would be a more interesting place to be.

Twenty years before, an alien ship is seen coming towards Earth and arrives above Johannesburg, South Africa.

It hovers above the city for three months without any contact; eventually humans take the initiative and cut into the ship.

They discover a large group of aliens who are malnourished and sick.

The aliens are later assessed as apparently being all â€œworkersâ€, with their leadership mysteriously missing (it is hypothesized that a plague may have wiped out all of the leadership-caste).

Grainy footage shows part of the ship (supposed to be a command module) falling to Earth, but nobody has been able to find it, leaving the ship inoperable.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Some of the sets are breathtaking, in particular Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

The film is hilarious throughout, Rupert Grint excelling with superb support from Jessie Cave, Freddie Stroma.

Bonnie Wright and Tom Felton are allowed to step out of their two-dimensional characters, Wright delivering sensuousness and strength and Felton giving an outstanding all-round performance.

Daniel Radcliffe continues to carry the weight of both the part and the franchise with effortless ease, and Emma Watson is once again magic as the emotionally embattled focus of the superb trio, who have now added a facility for comedy to their formidable acting skills.

This has received mixed reviews, judge for your self.

In the sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, and in both wizard and muggle worlds Lord Volemort and his henchmen are increasingly active.

With vacancies to fill at Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledor persuades Horace Slughorn, back from retirement to become the potions teacher, while Professor Snape receives long awaited news.

Harry Potter, together with Dumbledore, must face treacherous tasks to defeat his evil nemesis.
