When summer finally rolls around, the four girlfriends realize that each has their own goals and agendas, and that time spent together has become more difficult and seemingly less important.

Their coven-like rituals of sharing adventures has steadily lost its meaning, and the foursome discovers that their summer is going to be drastically more independent.

Now three years later, these lifelong friends embark on separate paths for their first year of college and the summer beyond, but remain in touch by sharing their experiences with each other as they always have-with honesty and humor.

For anyone interested in a bizarre, unique, visual stunner of gleeful monster madness (like me) I’d say catch this flick.

For anyone else…I might suggest you stay away.

In the first creature-feature, the story was a near laughable plot involving Rasputin, a couple of regenerating hell-hounds, and some other forgettable nonsense.

What made “Hellboy” succeed, was the director’s visual panache and enriching vision, Ron Perlman’s insta’ classic turn as the titular character, a bizarre yet beautiful set and monster design, and a superb, hilarious dose of self-aware humor.

Take all those ingredients, and add some elements that better it, and you have the upgraded, perfected version of what del Toro attempted to achieve in round 1.

In this continuation to the adventure of the demon superhero, an evil elf breaks an ancient pact between humans and creatures, as he declares war against humanity.

He is on a mission to release The Golden Army, a deadly group of fighting machines that can destroy the human race.

oooh yeaaaahh!! check this bundle out!

Ultimate Avengers 2 picks right up where the first movie left off.

Again, It’s simply a magic rendition of Marvel’s (and Earth’s) Mightiest Heroes.

What surprised me is the fact that this second film establishes the characters better and has substantial character development.

Some serious Ultimates fans (not me ) wanted this movie to be an exact reenactment of the comic book.

Marvel instead made a conscious decision to infuse the old school Avengers in to the Ultimates mix.

It’s still a good call and a masterful decision.

The combination works very well.

Gone are the overblown and, quite frankly, juvenile elements of the Ultimates.

Having a horny Hulk or an outrageously abusive Henry Pym may work to capture the teenage comic crowd (which is exactly why the Ultimate Universe was created) but it doesn’t play with main stream audiences.
