Water, Air, Fire and Earth are the elements of the world. In this world there are four Kingdoms named after each of those elements. Each of those Kingdoms have their people master its element. They are all under the supervision of the avatar ‘Aang’ (Noah ringer) who masters all those elements’ crafts and who is the only link to the spirit world. When the avatar was lost, the fire nation took the chance to control the world. The avatar appears to start his journey with his faithful friends Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her brother Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) to prevent the fire nation’s vicious intents. But, The avatar’s fear of responsibility, fear of making rigid decisions and the incapability of handling the four elements as he’s supposed to, make this movie interesting.
I guess I have to begin with the storyline, so you get the general idea of the movie, well, here you are:-
Gru (Steve Carell) is a mad man who lives in a… -let’s say “different” house/world than the rest of the surrounding houses in a happy suburban neighborhood. In his journey to accomplish his life’s dream (stealing the moon), Gru faces an obstacle. Vector (Jason Segel) “another mad geek guy” is that obstacle. A light bulb shined above Gru’s big head when he decided to use a trio of little orphan girls to win his battle. With the little girls got madly driven in his daily life Gru starts to change. well, not every mad man is a bad man.
I watched the movie and I really liked it. The humor and the unstoppable laughs. The minions’ voices that keeps echoing in your head even after the movie which makes the movie post-effectable. The ending is so predictable as the rest of the animated movies nowadays, I mean they had to do it predictable (the good wins) as the genre Family/Kids or the PG rated movie must be
I have this habit that when I plan to watch an animated movie I try to not know the actors’ (characters’) voices before watching it. I prefer to challenge myself and try to figure them out while watching the movie < kinda stupid huh. Anyway, in this movie I figured out Gru’s voice (Steve Carell), Gru’s Mom’s voice (Julie Andrews) but what was really pissing me off is Vector’s voice (Jesse Segel), Although I would have known his voice from dozenes of actors, because I’m a fan of “How I Met Your Mother” TV-Show.And that’s what killed me.
That what I think makes the animated movie highly performed. Different voices of a known and good actor/actress who you think you can recognise. I mean, The known good performance of an actor but the voice is different. Read the rest of this entry »

High on comedy, magic soundtrack and a nice little moral at the end.
This is a wonderful holiday special that will no doubt be added to our family holiday rotation. In the plus column it was completely family friendly. nice

This film moves at a fast enough pace to keep all ages happy.
It reveals the era of the Depression with total respect for the people of the era.
The film takes the high road in which moral decisions are clearly understood.
There is also a mystery and it is interesting.
All the acting is fine and there are a great variety of actors of all ages.
This film reminds me that movies are not suppose to be aimed at one particular age group in order to improve ticket sales.
This is just a good old fashioned movie.
10 year old Kit lives in a boarding house her parents own in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a passion for writing, & dreams of having something of hers put in the local paper someday.

Every scene was so rushed that the characters and their dynamics with each other lacked any real development, and every attempt at making the audience feel what was going on in the moment (or even caring at all) was murdered by this fact.
Obviously, I don’t need to say much more about the writing quality than I already have; it was just lazy, lazy, lazy.

Disney has done nothing but pump out rehashed ideas in the form of inane sequels to classics loved by my generation or weak under developed characters.
Well not this time.
Bolt the “super” dog was full of funny and emotional characters the likes of which Disney has not produced in a while.
When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet – a cross-country journey through the real world.

Easily the most impressive piece of the City of Ember puzzle is the delightfully ominous science-fiction visuals.
The massive sets were built in Northern Ireland in the shipyard-turned-soundstage of the location the Titanic was actually constructed in (now the largest soundstage in the world) and it’s never more apparent than in the beautiful crane shots through the underground city.
The CG elements are also top-notch, but the practical effects flawlessly immerse the audience in the fantasy world of pipeworks and generators.
For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights.
But Ember’s once powerful generator is failing … and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Something needs done.

When it started up I was immediately sucked in, and I never became uninterested and it never stopped entertaining, because they did an excellent job at keeping your attention.
There were some parts in the movie where I felt as if they tried too hard to please the audience and then others it got a little dumb and boring, but overall I laughed I almost cried and when it was over I wanted to watch it again.
It’s a great sequel to a great movie and I enjoyed watching it as much as the first.
It’s fantastic , you must see it.
The sequel of the first movie, the New York Zoo Animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo, still stranded on Madagascar, started to leave the island.
All of a sudden, they landed in the wilderness of Africa.
