Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

As you’ve no doubt guessed, it was created with children as the intended audience.

There are several lines that are cringe-worthy for the older crowd.

There are a few plot elements, too, that are completely pointless.

On the flip side, this film ventures into classic Star Wars territory.

Oddly enough, at times the dialogue and overall storytelling felt very old school.

Then, in the very next “screen wipe”, you get prequel-equivalent scenes.

You’ll encounter some familiar creatures/characters, as well as locales that will evoke a smile. And even though much of the humor is directed toward children, a large chunk of it is also aimed at older fans.

The heroic Jedi Knights struggle to maintain order and restore peace.

More and more systems are falling prey to the forces of the dark side as the Galactic Republic slips further and further under the sway of the Separatists and their never-ending droid army.

Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano find themselves on a mission with far-reaching consequences, one that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

But Count Dooku and his sinister agents, including the nefarious Asajj Ventress, will stop at nothing to ensure that Anakin and Ahsoka fail at their quest.

have fun! ;) magic

The Dark Knight

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

I was completely blown away! :)

This isn’t just the best Batman movie ever made, this is one of the best movie ever made.

Everything in this film is excellent, not one piece of annoyance.

Bale marvels as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ledger has made The Joker in to an iconic movie villain.

His performance belongs there at the top with Hopkins Lecter.

The Joker has finally been portrait properly on film, he has earned his place between the big boys in movie villandom.

This is the true Joker every Batman fan knows, loves and fears.

Ledger deserves any and every movie award known to man for this brilliant display.

Nolan has made his “I will always be remembered” movie, this is the crownjewel in his portfolio. Perfect directing, perfect story, perfect balance between action and drama, everything is perfect.

Even if you hate Batman, you will love this film.

If you don’t, then something beez wrongz with youz! :)

Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham’s new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker’s crimes grow more and more deadly.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Yes mulder and Scully are back…

They’ve left aliens and UFO’s back in the basement!

This is a fresh spin on what we loved about the series with some new dark undertones, that make’s us question what we believe is faith, God and the notion of redemption.

The film itself is less action driven/CGI heavy than the first one, which i liked only because it allowed us to understand and follow our favorite duo, investigating and expanding their relationship, to greater horizons.

The performance of both David and also Gillian are compelling and dramatic, making us feel for them as they carry baggage from the choices they have made.

The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show’s most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the always-complicated relationship between Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions.

Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder’s pursuits.

The Mutant Chronicles

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

The storyline is okay, but the action is really what this movie is all about.

The scenes when they go underground can get repetitive, and somewhat confusing.

It does drag a little bit underground.

There is action in between though, along with some stuff that would never happen (I know its action/fantasy) but it took me out of the movie a few times, thinking “oh really, that just happened..”.

Anyway, it’s got a lot of violence, gore and shooting.

Cool looking mutants, bombs, etc.

For an action movie, not bad, but could have been way better.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Friday, August 15th, 2008

I personally really like the Mummy series for its epic action, sense of humor and great special effects.

I was delighted when I started seeing teasers for this sequel to be shown in July, mostly because it was quite unexpected. ;)

This movie has all the required elements of epic action, sense of humor and great special effects.

Of course there is still the swashbuckling hero Rick O’Connell played in grand style by Brendan Fraser.

He undoubtedly has this action-comedy genre sewn up right in his alley.

John Hannah is still around playing his brother-in-law, Jonathan, in his old annoying manner.

Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex, wife Evelyn and her brother, Jonathan.

And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Feast Of Love

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

I watched this movie lately and i believe that sometimes fiction get much closer to the real life,to the human nature that is there in reality but we sometimes close or tend to close our eyes.

In this movie love is explained in a more realistic way and hence in the way the life is going and the way the life is in true form.

The TWO probable Definitions of love that they guy says at a moment in the movie are flawlessly realistic but depends on the observer who can see Love with his own eyes! storyline and speed is cool!

Cast is amazing and so is acting of them.

The only thing that lets it down is a bit more than needed sexuality and nudity in the movie.

Other than that, I guess this movie really deserves applause.

Enjoy ;) magic

The Golden Compass

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

The story was changed slightly compared to the book, but not too much.

The effects are magic!. The flow of the daemons in the film was almost completely convincing, however there were times when the speech of the animals had that typical “computer animated falseness” that you see in the cg cartoons.

Other than some minor CG blemishes, the realism is some of the most convincing.

The polar bear is completely lifelike and the animal morphing was magic.

Bee Movie

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Computer-animated films are sharply observed visual comedy grafted over hilarious voice-over.

Then they run out of ideas. All the bee jokes are front-loaded and the film can’t survive either on it’s script.

The writing team are keen not to get in too deep and stick to the surface gags.

A bee who has just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice; making honey.

On a special trip outside the hive, Barry’s life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey.
