Grizzly Park

25 Aug

The film itself is pretty enjoyable, and a not-too-shabby animal attack horror.

Even with the early murder, however, the film takes its time getting going and there are long periods of time where nothing at all really happens, but somehow it kept my attention.

Also, you really don’t get any good gore or violence until the last half-hour or so.

It actually seems like they didn’t have the budget to get use any of the gore effects until the last chunk of the flick, and that definitely hurt the quality.

To be honest, you could probably fast forward to that point and still get the best experience from this movie as possible.

All-in-all a passable start for the first time director and mostly lesser-known cast, and not bad for a brainless Friday night time-killer.

As part of a new rehabilitation program, eight troubled young adults are sent to serve a week of community service in a remote California state forest range called Grizzly Park.

Under the supervision of the stalwart Ranger Bob (Glenn Morshower of “24″), the troubled group is given an opportunity to seek redemption on their journey through the forest.

While Ranger Bob seeks to provide both literal and spiritual guidance to the youngsters, an escaped serial killer with an insatiable bloodlust has also found his way into the park with every intention of disposing of anyone in his path.

But he is not the only lethal hunter in these woods… ;) magic

Trailer Park Of Terror

05 Aug

Don’t listen to all of the super low ratings for this film, of course you can’t really compare it to bigger budget horror/comedies, it’s no Shaun of the Dead by any means but this movie has it’s shining moments … and there are definitely more than a few ;)

The movie starts extremely strong of course the biggest factor that can determine whether a movie in this genre is good or bad is the script.

There’s a lot of one-liners in this movie and they are pretty clever, you’ll find yourself laughing practically through the whole film, and not at things the filmmaker’s didn’t mean to be funny either.

If you’re a die hard horror fan, this movie is right up your alley.

There is enough blood to satisfy your appetite… and for fans of dark comedies, you’ll enjoy it as well – its good all round then!!

Based on the Imperium Comics series, Trailer Park of Terror.

Six troubled high school students and their chaperon, an optimistic youth ministries Pastor, return from an outdoor characterbuilding retreat in the mountains.

During a raging storm, their bus crashes, hopelessly stranding them in the middle of the Trucker’sTriangle, a forgotten locus of consummate evil in the middle of nowhere.

The hapless group seeks shelter for the night in a seemingly abandoned trailer park they find down the road.

However, when the sun sets, it’s not refuge they find.

Instead, terror finds them in the form of Norma, a damned redneck reaper with a killer body who dispenses vengeance and death aided by her cursed companions, a bloodthirsty brood of Undead trailer trash.

nice ;) magic

P2

05 Sep

This is a good one to sneak into, after you watch a movie that -  you paid to see!! :D

There are a lot of events which happen that just don’t make sense and don’t ring true.

Initially Wes Bentley irritated me, but eventually I got to like him and his character.

He’s pretty good at playing a dissociative psychopath.

Once the story got going it was easy to forgive the obvious mistakes and just have fun with it.

The setting, a parking garage, is very cold and unforgiving. It’s all concrete.

That aesthetic helps set a tone that Thomas is going to be unforgiving. closed, and cold with people he doesn’t like.

Angela (Rachel Nichols) doesn’t suffer from stupid chick syndrome. :P

She makes a few smart moves, and that makes it easy to root for her and empathize with her.

You want her to kick butt, but Thomas is a pretty strong opponent. ;)

It’s set at Christmas time too!!

Don’t watch Alone!! ;) magic
